Farewell Hwéeldi, The Trail of Tears

For centuries
We have walked the Trail of Tears,
Still we are proud, unbroken yet unwhole

When the Pale-face men came
And took our lands
Murdered our people and brother beasts
Raped our women
And brought disease

And now we see
The new land
With the thundering
Of a million hooves

We shall build this together
We share build this as one

No longer shall we shout 'Hoka-hey!'
But say 'It is a good day to live!’

*Lately the Great Spirit has been flooding me with many visions for the First Nations, the Native American people; whom I have a great affinity to. Perhaps as past life? . . . Still, a great time for dreaming . . .
