Monstaville Book I. Chapter 37

37

“I'm trying to free your mind, Neo. But I can only show you the door. You're the one that has to walk through it.” - Laurence Fishburne as Morpheus (The Matrix, directed by Andy and Larry Wachowski, 1999).

Useful principles to know.

“‘If you want to contain something, you must first let it expand. If you want to weaken something, you must first let it grow strong. When you want to get rid of something, you must first let it be promoted. When you want to take something away, you must first concede it. This is called subtle enlightenment. Softness overcomes the hard, yielding overcomes the strong.’” (The Laozi, or Daodejing, quoted in Opening the Dragon Gate. The Making of a Modern Taoist Wizard by Chen Kaiguo and Zheng Shunchao, translated by Thomas Cleary, p.159, Charles E. Tuttle Co, Inc., VT., U.S., 1998).

So, to get rid of Pigsy, you must first let him promote his power (so that people can see he is trouble?). To remove him, to take him away from here, you must first concede that it exists and allow him to be here, to live here. Thus, one’s method of achieving success is to be the most still, soft, gentle and yielding in order to allow the cycle to end as soon as possible without holding it up! Everything has a beginning, culmination and end. If you interfere and react, and struggle, the long, bitter and bloody battle will delay an outcome. If you allow the enemy to win without fighting, the enemy no longer has anything to prove. He will be confident and relaxed and feel secure, have his fun, indulge - and basically grow weaker and more vulnerable. It is then that the end is in sight, that the decline can set in. Allow a man to feel very strong, when it is not real, spiritual, inner strength and feel secure without true, inner peace, and he will experience the power he has craved all his life. It is a temporary hassle and stress for you but, if you react and ‘fight fire with fire,’ the conflict and tension will be prolonged. When a person feels settled and strong, they relax and can then be uprooted, or may naturally keel over - or have the money to move and buy a house. You must put down roots, be patient and wait.

“To be at peace is to create peace.” - Anon.

“One is sure to find himself where he can solve his problems best.” - Levi (The Aquarian Gospel, Chapter 15).

Pigsy intended to use the knife once and threaten to kill me and stuff to scare me, to shake me up and make me frightened of him so he could always intimidate me and say things to make me feel nervous and remember what he’s capable of. Just because he thought I was vulnerable, on my own, and not very physical, and wanted me to think that ‘martial arts’ were a waste of time as I can’t fight, to make sure I don’t feel I can beat him in a fight. And because he likes showing off in that way in front of his girlfriend. Macho, but really this is victimisation. He is taking his anger out on me and he’s angry that I didn’t move out so he could buy the property. He’s angry because he blew all the money he once had. And, finally, he’s an utter asshole!

"Anger is a demon. Anger leads us to commit all other sins. In the case of Vishwamitra, we know that all the good he acquired by tapas was nullified by this one evil, anger. The merit he had accumulated through tapas undertaken for thousands of years was all lost in a moment of anger." - Satya Sai Baba.

“Holding on to anger is like grasping a hot coal with the intent of throwing it at someone else; you are the one who gets burned.” - Gautama Buddha.

Ozzy comedian Benny Boots says he’s always thought of the word ‘knife’ as being a bit dodgy what with the ‘k’ being silent and concealing a knife!

“‘Blessed are ye when ye suffer through the fault of another, for in this wise do ye carry the cross of humanity and lift the weight from the shoulders of the Christ, for only as ye suffer blamelessly can ye share His burden.’” - St. Francis (The Shining Brother. Recording the spirit return of St. Francis of Assisi and its sequel Francis Speaks Again by Laurence Temple, Psychic Press, London, U.K., 1941, p.245).

“Am I not destroying my enemies when I make friends of them?” - Abraham Lincoln.

“Everyone wants a happy life without difficulties or suffering. We create many of the problems we face. No one intentionally creates problems, but we tend to be slaves to powerful emotions like anger, hatred and attachment that are based on misconceived projections about people and things. We need to find ways of reducing these emotions by eliminating the ignorance that underlies them and applying opposing forces.” - Dalai Lama.

Meditation. Positive thinking: Pigsy is staying away from me, respects me, has no evil intentions towards me - is filled with light, is transformed by my spiritual light here and the light I send to him. The conflict is all over. I am powerful and free - invincible - and he cannot come near me. He must steer clear of me.

Tripitaka, in one of the first episodes of Monkey, says when one realises that we are all one, all each other, there is no fear or animosity.

Road House (directed by Rowdy Herrington, 1989). A modern-day Western (kinda).

James Dalton (Patrick Swayze): Nobody ever wins a fight.

Dalton: I’m only good at one thing - I never lose. (The legendary bouncer says this to reassure his girlfriend before the face-off with Wesley).

Dalton: All you have to do is follow three simple rules. One, never underestimate your opponent. Expect the unexpected. Two, take it outside. Never start anything inside the bar unless it's absolutely necessary. And three, be nice.

Dalton: Take the biggest guy in the world, shatter his knee and he'll drop like a stone.

Dalton: If somebody gets in your face and calls you a cocksucker, I want you to be nice. Ask him to walk. Be nice. If he won't walk, walk him. But be nice. If you can't walk him, one of the others will help you, and you'll both be nice. I want you to remember that it's a job. It's nothing personal.
Dalton: I want you to be nice until it's time to not be nice.
Steve (Gary Hudson): Being called a cocksucker isn't personal?
Dalton: No. It's two nouns combined to elicit a prescribed response.
Steve: What if somebody calls my mama a whore?
Dalton: Is she?

Dalton: Be nice...it’s just a bunch of words stringed together to illicit a prescribed response.

Jimmy (Marshall R. Teague): Prepare to die.
Dalton: You are such an asshole.

Jimmy: Damn, boy. I thought you were good.
Dalton: Go fuck yourself.
Sam Elliott (Wade Garrett): When a man sticks a gun in your face, you have two choices, you can either die, or kill the motherfucker. (He tells Dalton to cut the bad memories he’s dragging around with him loose; that is, kill the nasty reaction to his antagonists).

Retrospective inserts.

“To have someone come into your home like that, and threaten you [with a knife], is probably one of the worst things that can happen to you.” - A Policeman on Traffic Cops (BBC1, 14 August 2008).

Kwai Chang Caine (David Carradine): You have the weakness to defend your injury with killing. Have you not the strength to forgive?

“With forgiveness, your true power emerges - the power of presence.” - Eckhart Tolle (A New Earth, p.160).

“…convert pain to a love of life.” – Roger King (in his cool ‘Forgiveness Meditation,’ www.soultalkstones.com).

‘Forgiveness’ by Larry James (adapted from the book, How to Really Love the One You’re With, 1994. Extracts from www.celebratelove.com/forgive.htm).

To forgive means to ‘give up,’ to let go. It also means to restore oneself to basic goodness and health. When we forgive, we are willing to give up resentment, revenge and obsession. We are willing to restore faith not only in ourselves, but in life itself. The inability or unwillingness to do this causes harm in the one who is holding onto the anger. If you are at war with others you cannot be at peace with yourself. You CAN let go…and forgive! It takes no strength to let go…only courage. Life either expands or contracts in direct proportion to your courage to forgive. Your choice to forgive or not to forgive either moves you closer to what you desire or further away from it. There is no middle ground. Change is constant.
Want peace of mind? Forgive…Forgiveness is the most important single process that brings peace to our soul and harmony to our life. All of us, at some point in our lives, have been hurt and wounded by the actions or words of another. Sometimes the grievances have been so great we thought, ‘no way, this I cannot forgive!’ Resentment and hostility can run so deep that forgiveness becomes very difficult. We feel we have a right to our indignation!
However, living from resentment takes so much effort. It creates a tremendous void in and around us. All the toxic feelings of hatred and resentment stay bottled up inside and eventually seep into all the areas of our life with the result that we become bitter, angry, unhappy and frustrated. And so, living from forgiveness becomes a necessity…
Forgiveness helps you move forward. No one benefits from forgiveness more than the one who forgives!...Forgiveness means choosing to let go, move on, and favour the positive. Forgiveness is a form of love within the context of a personal crisis. To forgive is, in a sense, to love one's enemy. When forgiveness is given because you think you should, it no longer is forgiveness but an act of self- interest. The act of forgiveness constitutes a mental bath, letting go of something that can only poison us within…
As long as you are blaming anyone else for anything, you are giving away your power and creating more negative effects in your life. This is the secret behind the Hawaiian practice of ho'oponopono, popularised by Joe Vitale in his book, Zero Limits.”

Blaming the other person, says Marshall Rosenberg, “increases the likelihood of violence.” He explains, in a workshop titled ‘The Basics of Non-violent communication’: “So, what could be more tragic than that, than expressing ourselves in a way that gets in the way of our getting what we want and increases violence? So, anything that we want to say that implies wrongness on the part of the other person I’m suggesting is a tragic, suicidal expression of an unmet need. Say the need. Learn a need-consciousness.” He adds: “Make sure that no words come out of your mouth that imply wrongness on the part of other people. Do everything you can to promote in people the trust that when you make a request it is a request and not a demand. And that increases the likelihood that people will enjoy giving to you.” (www.cnvc.org).

A YouTube video by Humanity Healing Projects adds part of the following extracts from ‘Being Truly Free. Letting Go,’ an article on Daily Om (www.dailyom.com, www.humanityhealing.net), 30 March 2005:

“Like pruning dead branches or like a snake shedding an old skin, we need to let go of the what no longer serves or what no longer fits, so that there is room for something new, alive, and what is needed at this time in our lives…For so much of learning to let go is about learning to trust. We have to be able to trust that, indeed, new branches will grow, that there is a new skin under the old one. And yet, to the degree that we are willing to let go, we are able to receive. When we stop holding on and clinging to anything, we realise we have everything.”

“To forgive is to remember that we have room in our hearts to begin again and again, and again.” - Author Unknown.

“To forgive is to remember that we are so much more than our mistakes.” - Author unknown.

You can only be happy if you express your true nature

Ascension is the event to focus on, as it is a major part of your awakening process, and you are very close to it.  Yes, you keep hearing that from numerous channels, but it is true, and you are bringing it into being by your collective intent, so do not allow disappointment with the apparent but unreal delays to cloud your vision, instead strengthen your intent and desire for its arrival, and make it happen, as indeed you are doing.  If you could see and feel the Love we have for you your anxieties and doubts would just fall away, so do not forget to ask for a loving hug whenever you go within to listen to us, then relax into it, and you will feel it because you intend to.  So often skepticism and doubt block the sense, the feeling, the knowing awareness that you could be experiencing of our Love for you if you would only open your hearts to receive It and bathe in the soothing balm in which we have enfolded you.

We shall keep reminding you of our Love for you because we wish to make it clear, as we have told you so many times, that Love is the answer to every issue, in every situation, Love is always the answer, period.  There is nothing else.  Love is everything that exists because our divine Source is Love.  True It has many forms but every one of them is unconditionally loving, accepting, compassionate and healing.  All else, all that is not of Love, is illusory, which is why all else continually fails to deliver what you hope for and desire.  To manifest your true wishes and desires be loving, always.  Your true wishes and desires are loving.  Those that are not loving are egoic and self-centered dreams of judgment, condemnation, and punishment, that you would like to impose on those with whom you disagree or whom you find unacceptable, thus destroying them.  Mad fantasies indeed that should make it abundantly clear to you that you are not coming from Love, and consequently you are seeking something that is unreal, unachievable and in every aspect utterly unsatisfying for you.

Love is your nature, your true nature, anything unloving that you attempt to engage with or use for any purpose will always lead to dismay and disappointment because it is unreal.  Anything you seem to achieve through unloving thoughts, words, or activities will turn to ash, to dust, because being unreal those things cannot last, and any satisfaction gained from their acquisition will be short-lived.  Those who live unlovingly are forever seeking new joys, new experiences, new forms of satisfaction or happiness purely because those previously gained have failed to provide lasting satisfaction, have in fact failed to last and have become grave disappointments. Only loving ways bring lasting satisfaction, and if you are honest with yourselves you do know this.

By being loving in every situation in which you engage, mentally, emotionally, or physically you release all that is unreal thus enabling yourselves to see the Source in everyone instead of the damaged egoic aspect that is worn as a mask to hide what is real.  You have done a good job of convincing yourselves that to be loving is dangerous and that doing so makes you dangerously vulnerable.  But you also know from personal experience that when you act or engage from your true nature, lovingly and compassionately, you are instantly rewarded by feelings of satisfaction, contentment, and even joy.  Love’s nature is to give, and not giving is extremely unnatural and leads to an experience of meaninglessness in your existence which you then have to hide from yourselves by denial or some other form of subterfuge because it is such a frightening prospect.

You can only be happy if you express your true nature through loving thoughts, words, and actions, but your egos keep trying to persuade you that to follow that path will lead to betrayal, because being loving lays you open to being taken advantage of and abused, and from that poverty must surely follow in both relationships and material well-being.  And yet, when you let your egos guide you, you find little if any satisfaction because you are always expecting to be betrayed or taken for a fool and must therefore be extremely cautious in all situations.  So by following your egos’ guidance to avoid betrayal you find yourselves expecting and fearing it almost constantly, and taking precautions to avoid being caught out or cheated.  It is a vicious circle, an endless loop of fearful wariness that inhibits love, and it just does not work.

You have to be Love, which is what you are, and offer it constantly.  Waiting to receive It from another does not work because that is in and of itself unloving behavior which always leads to disappointment.  To receive Love offer It, nothing else works, ever.  And deep within yourselves you know this, but the human life experience that you are engaged in so often shows you unreality – anger, resentment, bitterness – your defenses against all that you fear, and which are truly unreal.  You can only come out from under the heavy blanket of fear by loving – others, and yourselves – there is no other way, which is what all the spiritual masters have been demonstrating to you for eons.

God, the Source of all that exists, is the divine field of energy from which and in which all arises, and that is pure unadulterated and infinite unconditional Love.  When, you accept fear (either acknowledged or denied) as part of your lives you are choosing to shut out Love which is who you are, your divine and eternal nature bestowed on you by God at the moment of your creation.  Fear is unreal, a figment of your imaginations, an aspect of the illusion which you have enthusiastically embraced because it seemed thrilling, and that, surely, is insane?  Yet you continue to hold on to it as though it was the only reality, and against which you have to take protective measures.

You are all a part, an individualized aspect of your Source, God, your heavenly Father and divine Mother, because all is oneness.  But you have allowed yourselves to become so beholden to the illusion and all its seemingly mysterious characteristics that it seems you are enslaved by it, trapped within it.  Nothing could be further from the truth.  You chose, every one of you chose to experience the fear and confusion of the illusion for lessons that you wished to learn quickly so that you could move forwards with your spiritual evolution as rapidly as possible.  The downside of those choices was the seeming unshakable reality the illusion seems to present to you once you are within it.  It seems to you that you are weak, defenseless, and insignificant beings in a vast and threatening environment in which you have to protect yourselves from the elements of extreme heat and cold in order to survive. And you are becoming increasingly aware, as your science stretches its vision and its understanding of the universe, of the incredibly narrow band of essential conditions that are required to enable your continuing but uncertain survival as humans in this enormous and inhospitable environment.

You were created in Love, as you know very well, by your loving Source Whose Will for you is eternal joy and happiness.  It is only by denying your awareness of His infinite Love for you that you could continue to convince yourselves that the illusion, with all the pain, suffering, and fear in which it apparently enfolds you, could be real.  Deep within you know it is unreal, but until you make the choice to express and share Love in every moment, and actually do it, you will continue to find the illusion seemingly very real.

As humans embodied on the Earth plane it is very difficult for you to recognize this and live it constantly.  Doubts and skepticism are very powerful aspects of the illusion that hold it together and confirm your fears, and it is those pillars of the illusion that you need to let go of.  That is Faith in God, and the power of the various enticing and threatening aspects of the illusion just dissolve in the face of it.  Go within daily, three or four times if possible, and reconfirm that Faith in God’s Love for you so that the illusion shows itself to you for what it is, an unreal environment in which confusion and chaos hide Reality from you, but only for so long as you choose to accept it as real.

You are all aspects of the Divine, eternally safe and lovingly embraced in the Presence of God.  Open yourselves to the awareness of this and let the illusion collapse, crumble, and dissolve.

With so very much love, Saul.

The Dark Gap Is Love

By Osho

Excerpts from

Love's Mysteries

p.17 to 23

If you think too much – and thinking is always of the past or of the future – your energies will be distracted from feeling. Feeling is herenow. If your energies are moving into the pattern of thinking then you will not have enough energies to move into feelings – and love will not be possible.

So the first step is to be herenow. Future and past bring thinking; thinking destroys feeling. And a person obsessed with thinking, by and by completely forgets that he has a heart too. A man who is into thinking to much, by and by starts moving in such a way, starts living in such a way, where feeling has no say. Not listening to the feeling and by and by feeling starts fading away from him. There are millions of people in this state, who don’t know what heart means. They think heart is just a pump. Their whole concentration is in the head. Head is an extremity – it is needed, it is a good instrument, but it has to be used as a slave. It should not be the master. Once the head becomes the master and the heart is left behind, you will live, you will die, but you will not know what is god, because you will not know what is love. The same dark interval, first contacted looks like love…and when you are lost into it totally, it becomes God. Love is the beginning of God – or God, the ultimate peak of love.

The second step towards love, and towards the divine melody, is: learn to transform your poisons into honey. Because many people love, but their love is very much contaminated by poisons – with hate, jealousy, anger, possessiveness…a thousand and one poisons surround your love. Love is a delicate thing. Just think of anger, hatred, possession, jealousy – how can love survive?

First, people move into the head and forget the heart – they are in the majority. A minority still lives a little in the heart, but then that minority does another wrong: the small light of love is surrounded by jealousy, hatred, anger, a thousand and one poisons. The whole journey becomes bitter. I told you, love is the ladder between heaven and hell, but the ladder is always a two-way thing: you can go up, and you can come down – you will be entering into hell and not into heaven. And instead of attaining to a melody, your life will become a nauseous noise – conflicting, traffic noise, a cacophony of noises with no harmony. You will remain on the verge of madness.

So the second thing to remember is: learn to transform your poisons into honey. How are they transformed? There is no simple process. In fact, to call it transformation is not right, because you didn’t do anything; you only need patience. This is one of the greatest secrets I am telling you. Try it: when anger comes, you are not to do anything, just sit silently and watch it. Don’t be against it, don’t be for it. Don’t cooperate with it, don’t repress it. Just watch it, be patient, just see what happens…let it rise.

Remember: don’t do anything in the moment of anger – wait. Just give it a little time and wait…and you will be surprised. And one day you will understand that if you can wait enough, anger itself becomes compassion. It is a wheel; it is moving on its own – You are in a hurry. Just as night becomes day if you can wait a little, in the same way, anger becomes compassion if you can wait a little. The same energy – just patience has to be added to it, nothing else. You try it.

Never do anything in the mood when the poison is possessing you; just wait. When the poison has started changing into its other…This is one of the basic laws of life: that everything continuously changes into its other. Just as I told you that man changes into woman, woman changes into man, there are periodical changes in you – the good man becomes the bad, the bad man becomes the good; the saint has sinner’s moments and the sinner has saintly moments…one has to just wait.

Act when the saint is uppermost – that’s all. Don’t act when the sinner is uppermost, don’t act when anger is uppermost, otherwise you will repent, you will create a chain of reactions and you will get into karma. That is the whole meaning of getting into karma. Do anything when you are in a negative moment and you will be in a chain, and then there is no end to it. When you are negative you do something, the other becomes negative, the other is ready to do something – negativity creates more negativity. Negativity provokes more negativity, anger brings more anger, hostility brings more hostility, and things go on and on and on…and people have been entangled with each other for Lives together. And they continue!

Wait. When you are angry, it is the moment to meditate. Don’t waste this moment anger is creating such a great energy in you. It can destroy. But energy is neutral – the same energy that can destroy, can be creative. The same energy that can shatter, can shower life – just wait, waiting, and not doing anything in a hurry, one day you will be surprised, seeing the inner change. You were full of anger, and then anger goes on and on and comes to a climax…and then the wheel turns. You can see the wheel is turning, the anger is relaxing, and energy is being released, and now, you are in a positive mood – the creative mood. Now you can do something. Do it. Always wait for the positive.

What I am saying is not repression. I am not saying to repress the negative, I am saying – watch the negative. Remember the difference is there. I am not saying to sit on top of the negative, forget the negative, do something against it – no. I am not saying when you are angry, smile - no; that smile is false, ugly, phoney. When you are angry, then close the room, keep a mirror in front of you, see your angry face yourself. There is no need to show it to anybody else. It is your business, it is your energy, it is your life, and you have to wait for the right moment. Go on looking in the mirror: see the red face, the red eyes, the murderer there.

Have you ever thought that everybody carries a murderer inside? You also carry a murderer inside. Don’t think that the murderer exists somewhere else – somebody else is a murderer who commits a murder – no, everybody has the possibility to commit a murder. You carry the suicidal instinct in you.

Just look in the mirror: these are your climates – you have to be acquainted with them. This is part of the growth towards self-knowledge. You have heard so much from Socrates still today: ‘Know thyself?’ – but is this the way to know thyself. ‘Know thyself’ does not mean sit silently and repeat? ‘I am Brahma, I am Soul, I am God, I am This’ – all this is nonsense. ‘Know thyself’ means know all your climates, all possibilities – the murderer, the sinner, the criminal, the saint, the holy man inside you, the virtue, the God, the Devil – know all the climates, the whole range of it, and by knowing it you will be discovering secrets, keys.

You will see that anger cannot be there forever – or can it be? You have not tried it, so try it – it cannot be there forever. If you don’t do anything, what is going to be there forever. If you don’t do anything, what is going to happen? Can anger hang there forever and ever? Nothing hangs there forever. Happiness comes and goes, unhappiness comes and goes. Can’t you see a simple law – that everything changes, nothing remains permanent. So why be in a hurry? Anger has come – it will go. You just wait, have a little patience. Just look in the mirror and wait. Let anger be there, let your face go ugly and murderous – but wait, watch.

Don’t repress, and don’t act according to the anger, and soon you will see that the face is becoming softer, eyes are becoming calmer, the energy is changing – the male is turning into female…and soon you will be full of radiance. The same redness that was anger, now is a certain radiance – a beauty on your face, in your eyes. Now go out; the time has come to act.

Act when you are positive. Don’t force positivity, wait for the positivity to come on its own. This is the secret – when I say, ‘learn to transform your poisons into honey,’ this is what I mean.

Third: whenever it is negative, keep it to yourself. Whenever it is positive, share. Ordinarily, people share their negativities, they don’t share their positivities. Humanity is simply stupid. when they are happy, they don’t share, they are very miserly. When they ate unhappy, they are very, very spendthrift – then they are ready to share. When people smile, they smile very economically – just so, so far. But when they are angry, they are totally angry. The third step is to share the positivity. That will bring your love flowing like a river, arising from your heart. You dilemma of the heart will start moving when you share.

I have heard a very strange saying of Jorge Luis Borges:

Give that which is holy unto the dogs
Cast thy pearls before swine
For the thing that mattereth is giving

You have heard the contrary saying: Don’t throw to the dogs, and don’t cast pearls before the swine, because they will not understand.

The real thing is not what you are giving – pearls and holiness and love – and To whom you are giving; that is not the point. The point is that you are giving. When you have, give it.

Gurdjieff used to say, ‘All that I hoarded was lost, and all that I gave is mine. All that I gave is still with me, and all that I hoarded is lost, gone.’ True: you only have that which you have shared. You have only as much love as you have shared. Love is not a property to be hoarded, it is a radiance, a fragrance to be shared. The more you share, the more you have; the less you share, the less you have. The more you share, the more it will arise from your innermost core – it is infinite: more will be welling up. Draw water from a well, and more water comes running fresh into the well. Don’t draw the water, close the well, become a miser, and no more will the springs then function. By and by, the spring will become dead, blocked; and the water that is in the well will die, will become stale, dirty. The flowing water is fresh…the flowing love is fresh.

So the third step towards love is: share your positivities, share your life, share all that you have. Whatsoever beautiful is with you, never hoard it. Your wisdom, share; your prayer, share; your love, your happiness, your delight, share. Yes, if you cannot find anybody, share it with dogs – but share. Share it with rocks – but share. When you have pearls, throw them – don’t bother whether they are swine or saints, just throw them. The thing that mattereth is giving.

Hoarding poisons the heart. All hoarding is poisonous. If you share, your system will be free of poisons. And when you give, don’t bother whether it is responded to or not. Don’t even wait for a thank you. Feel grateful to the person who allowed you to share something with him. Not otherwise – don’t wait, saying deep in your heart that he should be thankful because you shared something with him. No – feel thankful yourself that he was ready to listen to you, to share some energy with you…that he was ready to listen to your song…that he was ready to see your dance…that when you had come to give to him, he didn’t reject – he could have rejected. Sharing is one of the most spiritual virtues, one of the greatest spiritual virtues.

The fourth: Once you start thinking that you are somebody, you stop; then love does not flow. Love flows out only of somebody who is a nobody. Love abides only in nothingness. When you are empty, there is love. When you are full of the ego, love disappears. Love and ego cannot exist together. Love can exist with God, but cannot exist with the ego, because love and God are synonymous. Love and ego are impossible to be together. So be nothing. That is the meaning of being humble, meek. Says Jesus: Blessed are the meek, for theirs is the Kingdom of God.

p.29

If you start living rightly...and what do I mean by 'rightly'? Those four steps: be herenow, learn to transform your poisons into honey, share your positivity, and be nothing. That's what I mean by 'living rightly.'

If you live rightly, in twenty-four hours’ time you will cross many times to this shore form that, from that to this, from this to that – many times God will penetrate you, radiate you. Many times you will be suddenly on the other shore. Walking on the street…and suddenly he is there. The sun is falling on you, the sunrays falling behind the trees…and suddenly the other shore is there. It is not somewhere far away, near other galaxies; it is always here. It is a quality of your awareness, it is a quality of your understanding, it is a quality of your meditation, if you are unburdened here, unobsessed with the worldly things.

Live in the world, but don’t allow the world to live in you.

My burden is light

By Osho

Excerpt from

Love's Mysteries, p.27-28

“Jesus says: Come to me all those who are heavily burdened. My burden is light. Come to me, rest in me.

Only in love do burdens disappear. What in fact is the basic burden? The basic burden is that of the ego: I am. All other burdens are accumulated on this centre. This is the very hub – I am; then you accumulate many burdens. The centre has to be destroyed. Love makes you a nobody, love takes you off your ground, love destroys your ego utterly. It annihilates, it kills you completely, and it gives you a new life – a life without any ego – a humble life, a simple life, a life which God can live through. You become a hollow bamboo…and his music starts flowing through you. You don’t hinder because you are not there to hinder him. If you are, you are the hindrance.

People come to me and they ask: How can I go beyond sorrow? I tell them: You cannot go beyond sorrow. There is a transcendance, but You cannot go; you will have to stop before it. yes, there is a state of sorrowlessness, but you cannot enter into it; you will have to stop. Something within you will enter, but not you. Something within you will go into that land of no sorrow, but not you: you are the sorrow.

Have you not observed? – the greater your ego, the greater sorrow it creates. It hurts – it is like a wound. The lesser the ego, the less it hurts – the wound is healed. When there is no ego, it hurts not at all. Even if somebody insults you it does not hurt because you are not hurt – how can he insult you? The insult hits you only when the wound exists – you are defeated because you wanted to be victorious. If the ego does not exist, what is the difference between victory and defeat. What is the difference between success and failure? All distinctions are created by the ego. Wherever ego feels fulfilled, it is success, victory. When ego feels unfulfilled, it is failure, defeat. All defeats and victories are because of the ego. When there is no ego, you simply live without victory, without failure. You simply live without success, without failure. You simply live…and that simple life is the religious life."

Infinite Love

By Sananda

Channelled through Christopher Sell, 31 October 2013

There is infinite love for you. You might say that your role here on Earth is to accept this infinite love into your life.

Now let's express this idea in a different way. You yourself are infinite love. The infinite love that you are has chosen to express itself in a location in time and space where love is not yet fully known. You are the doorway through which infinite love becomes known on the earth plane.

When you judge yourself or another you close the door a little. When you release judgement the door swings open again. Practise being infinite love, for then you know your true nature. But don't practise too hard, for then you become tense and that closes the door a little too. Be gentle with yourself and the infinite love that you are comes to live with you.

Your collective intent is the determining factor

By Saul

Here in the spiritual realms we are watching with joy as humanity’s progress towards the moment of awakening becomes ever more powerfully focused.  We have told you many times that it is a done deal, which indeed it is, but your collective intent is the determining factor, the force driving you forwards and homewards so purposefully.  It has always been your collective intent to awaken, ever since the moment of apparent separation, but of course the distractions and enticements of the illusion that you had conceived and built were quite fascinating, and for all practical purposes you had forgotten that ineradicable intent and became lost and distracted in the vast maze that is the illusion.

Many have come among you over the eons to remind you and show you the way home, and finally their loving and persistent efforts are coming to fruition as ever more of you open to the realization that you are indeed eternally alive spiritual beings undergoing learning experiences, requiring physical bodies, that will lead you out of the illusion and home to Reality.  The way ahead is clear, there are no obstructions or obstacles that entail any more diversions or detours, just hold the intent to awaken, for yourselves and for all of humanity, and reconfirm it at least once daily, and preferably many times because your task is to wake up and remember with wonder who and where you truly are.

You have a saying: “Home is where the heart is,” which basically means that home, where you all perpetually desire to be, is a state of knowing that you are always and unconditionally loved, and where you want for nothing; but within the illusion that is an almost impossible state to attain.  Yes, some of you have wonderful relationships, when judged by your human standards, but even then you know that however good it is something is still not right, something is missing.  You are always on the lookout for something more, and that of course is your divine and eternal connection to God.

That connection has never been broken and never can be, but your awareness of it, your knowing it is lost temporarily, and you yearn for it – which is why, as a human, you can never find true satisfaction – because deep within you know that that is what is missing in your lives, and there is absolutely nothing that can replace it.  A few do become aware of this and turn to God full time for the Love that they know is their due, and in doing so they fall fully and finally in love with God.  But only a very few have sufficient dedication and persistence to come to know Him and dwell in His Presence during a human lifetime.

Now, with the intensifying field of divine Love bathing and embracing the planet and all sentient life forms, an awareness of this is growing throughout humanity, that you are indeed spiritual beings.  Many are finding this hard to accept.  Nevertheless, their awareness is strengthening despite their doubts and skepticism, and resistance is futile.  You are beings of Love, eternally connected to your divine Source, and denial of the reality of that divine Truth can no longer be maintained.  And for many that is very unsettling.

Having bought into the apparent reality of unreality it can cause considerable emotional distress to acknowledge that you had made an error, and that the environment of pain and suffering that seems to envelop you is a figment of your collective intent.  You focus intently on your ingrained beliefs to convince yourselves that you are right, that the world around you is most definitely real – after all you experience it directly with all your physical senses, so it must be real, right?  And in that rightness is your unhappiness and dissatisfaction firmly maintained.

So often you are in places or situations where it seems you cannot safely be yourselves, and so you have all donned disguises that you have become so accustomed to wearing that you believe they really are you.  Then something unexpected happens and you find the disguise cannot cope with it and an aspect of yourself you had forgotten you had breaks into your awareness.  It can be a sense of great strength and ability to cope, or a terrifying breakdown into emotional collapse.  Either way it is shocking for you.  Rest assured that when something like that happens to you it most certainly is not an accident but a wakeup call, a learning opportunity that you had built into your life path to assist you on your way to awakening.

You can still deny its meaning and refuse to become aware of the lesson with which it has presented you, but even so it will have such an enormous impact on your life perspective that you will eventually have no option but to acknowledge it, leading you to make necessary alterations in your attitudes and behaviors.  It is a little like finally admitting to alcoholism or drug addiction and agreeing to take part in a twelve step program.  And, as you all know, doing that can be a life saver and a life changer, bringing amazing rewards to those who find the courage to admit that they need help.

You need to keep remembering that a human life on Earth is an ongoing learning experience, an experience you willingly chose to undergo for the essential lessons with which it would present you.  Once you accept that and start to accept what life presents to you with equanimity and patience your stress levels will fall, and you will find yourselves far better able to cope with the unexpected situations or crises that life seems to throw at you.

At first, when a crisis occurs, go immediately into your inner space, give yourself time to unwind a little, to relax a little, and then ask for help from your angels, guides, mentors, saints – whomever you feel most comfortable, or perhaps least uncomfortable calling upon – and you will receive it, instantly.  But be aware that the guidance that is offered so wisely and lovingly may not fit in with your presumed need.  You will need to be prepared and ready to see things differently so that you can understand, appreciate, and then put into effect the assistance on offer.

Learning life’s many lessons is all about surrendering to Love, God, the Source of all that exists.  Love does not judge, blame, condemn, or deceive, It offers a wise and loving embrace that will solve all issues.  Holding out for justice or restitution encourages a state of bitterness and resentment that burns – it is like holding your hand in a flame, the only remedy is to remove it.  When you first feel the pain that another seems to have caused you, possibly with intent, it is difficult to stand back from the situation and maintain an awareness that that other is also in pain, and that the remedy is Love, because part of you wants to hate!  But you know from experience that clinging to a hurt, a mistreatment, a betrayal, or any other form of attack only ensures your own continuing pain.

When in pain, therefore, whatever the reason, go within to ask for help and for a loving embrace.  Open your hearts as you do so to be ready to receive the incredibly powerful loving embrace that will be offered immediately, and let your intuitive knowing that you are indeed doing the right thing in that moment relieve the pain and stress that you are experiencing.  At a deep level of your being you know this is so, because you know that all is Love.

With so very much love, Saul.
