La decima vittima (original title)
Mad Italian-French glamorous, dystopian comedy starring Ursula Andress and Marcello Mastroianni. A "messed-up Italian future-noir," as Daniel Binns calls it. This film, based on Robert Sheckley's short story 'Seventh Victim,' published in 1953, preceded and therefore no doubt inspired The Prisoner, Austin Powers (particularly the fembots) and The Truman Show.
In the future, society has evolved past wars, utilising a televised murder show call the
Big Hunt in which ten people are selected to murder targets who have no idea who's after them while the assassins receive information about their victims in advance. Caroline Meredith (Ursula Andress) is a hunter looking to kill her tenth victim, after which she can retire wealthy. Her prey, Marcello Polletti (Marcello Mastroianni), does his best to avoid her traps. After a deal with a sponsor, Meredith plans to kill Polletti on camera as part of a commercial. However, romantic feelings between the combatants start to complicate the hunt.

"When Marcello Poletti and Caroline Meredith, the game's two top assassins, are pitted against each other, they find that love is the most dangerous game of all." (Wikipedia).
