Monstaville Book I. Chapter 1

1

"Patience and perseverance have a magical effect before which difficulties disappear and obstacles vanish."
- John Quincy Adams.

“You have to learn to live without violence in such a violent world. It is difficult to live sanely in an insane world, but that is the only life there is, and one has to find one's way to live through it. All that we can do is to never become violent against violence, because that is not going to help. Have deep compassion. If one has to suffer, one should suffer through compassion. And people who are violent are completely unaware; they don't know what they are doing. That's what Jesus has to say to the people; it is his last message to the world. He asks God to forgive these people because they don't know what they are doing. So one can pray, one can love and one can have compassion, but the violence is there. And you cannot change it because the world is so big; how can you change it? One has to accept it. With tears, but one has to accept it. And one can go on doing whatsoever one can do on one's own...a little bit, whatsoever one can spread. Spread your love. The world is like a desert but even if you can sow a single seed and only two flowers come to it, even that is something. In this vast desert land if two flowers or even a single flower comes up, that too is good. So don't be too concerned about it, just be concerned about one thing: how you can love people who are violent and how to live in a world which is not sane at all. Find ways.” - Osho.

"At heart all Humans are loving individuals, and it is just that you have been hurt so many times and taught to see others as your potential enemies. If you accept that you are All One, why indeed would you treat others than how you would wish to be treated yourselves? Compassion will go long way towards resurrecting the Oneness that once existed between you all else. Does the criminal who has strayed from the Light deserve it, or is he/she a lost cause? We would say that you cannot discriminate when being compassionate, and that challenge will come up time and again through the rest of your life in duality. You cannot perhaps be all things to all people, but what does it cost you to show compassion which is an aspect of Unconditional Love." - SaLuSa (channelled through Mike Quinsey, www.gfbymikequinsey.blogspot.com).

Experiencing what you don’t like and which does not provide fulfilment - whether you face it in yourself or see it in others, occurring to yourself or to others - helps to reinforce your sense of that which does. It encourages you to seek it and centre yourself in it and not seek outside it: know what’s good for you and hang on to it. ‘Know the light but keep the dark.’ [See Appendix X: St. Germain on our divine nature being beyond light and dark].

But it also teaches you to nurture and develop the qualities of strength, humility, patience and love within yourself.

"The cure for pain is in the pain. Good and bad are mixed. If you don't have both, you don't belong with us." – Rumi. [See Appendix XI: Understanding Pain].

Calamitas virtutis occasion” (‘Calamity is Virtue’s opportunity’). - Seneca.

"Though my path may be dark, it ALWAYS leads to light." - An affirmation in hand yoga.

Always look on the bright side of life: “An immortal knows and sees everything, but he or she closes the window on bad scenes, and only opens it on the bright side. If you want to learn to be immortal, learn first to ignore emotional disturbance so that you can enjoy the overall flow of the stream. Every day you need a normal emotional flow.” - Daoist Master Hua-Ching Ni.

“Worry does not empty tomorrow of its sorrows, it empties today of its strength.” - Corrie Ten Boom.

“Do not anticipate trouble or worry about what may never happen. Keep in the sunlight.” – Benjamin Franklin.

“Nonchalance is the ability to remain down to earth when everything else is up in the air.” - Earl Wilson.

Master Po (Keye Luke): Arise calmly Grasshopper and brush the indignity off your trousers. You fought blindly, Grasshopper. A sickly maiden could have beaten you!
Young Caine (Radames Pera): Yes, Master Po. Forgive me.
Master Po: Forgive yourself. You have suffered for it. What is the cause of your anger?
Young Caine: It is anger at myself.
Master Po: Yes, but what is the reason?
Young Caine: For being a coward.
Master Po: Ahhhh. When did you discover this about yourself?
Young Caine: Yesterday. When Ho Fong and I were attacked by five big bullies in the market place. He was struck first. And I, out of fear, did nothing to help him.
Master Po: You were two boys against five larger than yourself. What do you think you should have done?
Young Caine: Fought back, and try to help my friend.
Master Po: Ahhh, yes Grasshopper, that would have been heroic.
Young Caine: You agree, then, that I was a coward?
Master Po: What is cowardice, but the body’s wisdom of its weakness? What is bravery, but the body’s wisdom of its strength? The coward and the hero march together within every man. So, to call one man coward and another brave, merely serves to indicate the possibilities of their achieving the opposite.

“A hero is an ordinary individual who finds the strength to persevere and endure in spite of overwhelming obstacles.” - Christopher Reeve.

Whether I move now or not, this trauma might purge my mind and make me more aware of what’s around me, forcing me to pay attention to the home environment and emotional/security issues. They are becoming more important as a result of not surviving and also being bullied and intimidated.

When someone pushes me too far, or even when I see people treating others monstrously, I lose my compassion and just want them ‘dead,’ to not exist, perhaps because I feel powerless and feel that humanity is powerless in the face of such an evil threat that always seems to remain unconquerable in this world. Then, I don’t have to deal with my enemies because I’m not strong enough (etc) to put up a fight - because I’m alone, vulnerable, physically delicate and nervous (as well as suffering from some condition that affects my attention and memory). It is a matter of resources...and frustration!

Do not hope wholly to reason away your troubles; do not feed them with attention and they will die imperceptibly away. Fix your thoughts upon your business, fill your intervals with company and sunshine will again break in upon your mind.” - Samuel Johnson.

This desire on the part of my ego is obviously unrealistic. The only other option is to try to rise above the shit, force myself to seek refuge deep within without cutting myself off from reality. Like a spiritual test I will only face and go through if it is imposed on me. Getting nearer - even in the same house now. I can’t just deal with it and go back to my private space. That’s been violated. It is a constant concern. Perhaps the only solution is to avoid the guy, but try not to be fearful and nervous. Try to force yourself to be stronger, to toughen up, let go, be humble and flexible, yielding outwardly but strong internally, tolerant and loving. Just forgive and forget. Forgiveness includes forgetting - not worrying, just letting go.

"Forgiveness is the fragrance that the Violet sheds on the heel that has crushed it..." - Mark Twain.

“‘Those who are forgiven much, love much.’” - St. Francis (The Shining Brother. Recording the spirit return of St. Francis of Assisi and its sequel Francis Speaks Again by Laurence Temple, Psychic Press, London, U.K., 1941, p.230).

“To understand is to forgive, even oneself.” - Alexander Chase.

Q. I’ve found myself in a lot of conflict with people lately and I don’t really know what to do about it. Is that going to happen often?
A. It is a good opportunity for you to forgive. I think the main lesson here is to forgive yourselves for anything that you feel less about. You will attract experiences that mirror the feelings you have toward yourself, so perhaps in your cleansing and emotional healing you are releasing feelings of unworthiness or conflicts you have held concerning yourself. They are being mirrored to you externally. So do not sink to the level of reflecting negativity. Try to reflect only love. This is a good challenge for you in unconditional love. It is always appropriate to forgive whether you feel you are right or wrong. Whether you feel you have been wronged or persecuted. It is a test of your ability to forgive. (Sananda channelled through Eric Klein, The Crystal Stair. A Guide to the Ascension, Oughton House Publications, CA., U.S., 1990, p.141).

"I perceive an imperfect world because I fail to compassionately accept my own imperfections. My defection from all my imperfections, magnetises to me, my very own dark reflection, for me to witness from the mirror of my world. Only by developing unconditional love and compassion for my apparent antagonist, does my enemy become my enema." - Dean Fraser.

"The key to the healing of abuse of any kind lies in this one awareness: It is not the respect of others that you have sought and needed – it is your own." - Unknown.

“Every person, all the events of your life are there because you have drawn them there. What you choose to do with them is up to you.” - Richard Bach (Illusions. The Adventures of a Reluctant Messiah, Pan Books Ltd, London, U.K., 1977).

Gratitude

“Gratitude prepares the way. Feel as grateful to existence as possible - for small things, not only for great things...just for sheer breathing. We don't have any claim on existence, so whatsoever is given is a gift. If it is not given we don't have any court for appeal.
So grow more and more in gratitude and thankfulness - not only towards me; let it become your very style. Be grateful to everybody.
If one understands gratitude then one is grateful for things that have been done positively. And one even feels grateful for things which could have been done negatively. You feel grateful that somebody helped you; this is just the beginning. Then you start feeling grateful that somebody has not harmed you - he could have; it was so kind of him.
Once you understand the feeling of gratitude and allow it to sink deeply within you, you will start feeling grateful for everything. And the more grateful you are, the less complaining, grumbling. Once complaining disappears, misery disappears. It exists with complaints. It is hooked with complaints and with the complaining mind. Misery is impossible with gratefulness. So that is one of the most important secrets to learn.”
                - Osho (A Rose is a Rose is a Rose, Darshan 1976, Rajneesh Foundation, Pune, India, 1978).

“Think of all the beauty still left around you and be happy.” - Anne Frank.

Retrospective inserts.

“I was astonished to find that there was no evil in any soul. I said ‘How can this be?’ The answer was that no soul was inherently evil. The terrible things that happened to people might make them do evil things, but their souls were not evil. What all people seek, what sustains them, is love, the Light told me. What distorts people is a lack of love.” - Ed Mitchell, Astronaut.

‘Higher Light Body’ - GoldRing 73 - Activation (Game of Enlightenment, Google video, 9 October 2007, www.premieres.com).

“It is necessary that the Lords of Light redefine timelines and cleanse the world of darkness through the increase of Light. ‘Bring forth the Light’ is the request of Wayshowers and Lightworkers for they know that Light dispels darkness without conflict. There is no war against the dark. It has no power as it exists in the shadows and in distance from the Light. Bring on the Light. The teachers of Light have sought to educate humanity into the understanding and acknowledgement of the enlightenment. The timeline of this period was set for the fulfilling of the risen spirits to take power and be in full power as they are empowered to do in the physical world. This has not happened, as a reluctance to do the work has allowed the evil to remain in the presence of the Light. The gross, diseased and crude elements of humanity have not been purified and they propagate in the shadows of apathy and misalignment. The tears of God fall to the Earth as She awaits the power of positive manifestation to reveal all the leaders of Creation.” [1].

"The greatest portal to our ascension is joy and gratitude. Gratitude is a truly powerful expression that calls forth more of the same by its very nature!" - Master Kuthumi (quoted in a newsletter from www.awakeningfromwithin.com).

“Gratitude is the memory of the heart.” - Jean Baptiste Massieu.

Blackadder (Rowan Atkinson): Right, take Baldrick off the spit.
Baldrick (Tony Robinson): Hurrah...
Blackadder: I've got a plan so cunning you could put a tail on it and call it a weasel.
- Blackadder the Third (Series 3, Episode 1, ‘Dish and Dishonesty,’ written by Ben Elton and Richard Curtis, BBC TV, 1987).

Footnote

1. The GoldRing source tells us that, “One part of your being manifests as physical matter, another as emotional content and another as Light energy. The parts of you that are mental and spiritual are part of the Light body.” (From the DVD Messages from Andromeda 2, October 2009, www.goldring.wetpaint.com). The GoldRing Enlightenment and Abundance also states that the Light body is from the seventh dimension. As such it would appear that it constitutes all that is permanent and real up to that level; that is, our twelve chakras, including the seven etheric body ones, and any other structures that exist beyond the physical and astral holographic illusion
