Monstaville Book II. Chapter 6

6

‘I am doing whatever it takes to create peace and harmony here and to persuade them to stop harassing me.’
(One kind of affirmation - or prayer - that I’ve used).

24 May 2003. 10.45 p.m.

Angel Card: Humour - after Pigsy came home with his girlfriend and rang on my doorbell. Yeah, but what can I do about him in the long-term? Reply: Patience.

You must have infinite patience with all people. This is the way to deal with nasty, fucked up people, and with everyone, always.

“Only infinite patience produces immediate effects. This is the way in which time is exchanged for eternity. Infinite patience calls upon infinite love and by producing results NOW it renders time unnecessary.” – A Course in Miracles (Jeshua channelled through Dr. Helen Schucman, The Foundation for Inner Peace, CA., U.S., 1976).

I feel sorry for Pigsy - he’s the most pathetic person I have ever known. But I still have to put up with him being a threat.

“Let nothing disturb you;
Let nothing dismay you;
All things pass; God never changes.
Patience attains All that it strives for.
He who has God finds he lacks nothing:
God alone suffices.”
- Teresa of Vila (Spain, 1515-82).

“Patience may be defined as that quality of life which makes suffering creative; and impatience as that whereby suffering becomes a destructive force.” - Robert Llewellyn (A Doorway to Silence, Darton, Longman & Todd Ltd, London, U.K., 1986).

APatience is bitter, but its fruit is sweet.@ ‑ Lida Clarkson.

Dangerous Creatures [notes from a TV documentary?].

When you come face-to-face with a mountain lion (cougar), you must stand up to it; fight back. Instead of moving away in a hurry, you must appear big and tall, stepping away slowly. If you bend down or get too near to the lion you can be attacked.

We may fear large animals but it’s the little creatures that are really dangerous. Our greatest terror is the snake (and jellyfish). Then come maggots and insects (laying eggs inside the body). Then spiders, then killer bees and then elephants, lions and bears (etc). Note: pour vinegar on jellyfishes and they die.

Regarding Pigsy, it’s great that you are in control of the situation - subtly - even though it may not seem like it. Persist. You have protection. Your flat is safe. You are changing it with powerful energy and love. You are powerful and in control. Hiding does not suggest defeat. It is normal. If you are weak physically or materially, you have to hide on those levels. But, keep working mentally and spiritually to effect change. This constitutes mastery of self and others, which is a requirement for any potential teacher.

“Warriors have an ulterior purpose for their acts which has nothing to do with personal gain. The average man acts only if there is a chance for profit. Warriors act not for profit, but for the spirit.”- don Juan (Tales of Power by Carlos Castaneda, Pocket Books, New York, U.S., 1974).

Entry from January 2003.

Transformation. Would you be hostage to the ego or host to God?

Don’t worry about Pigsy. Show no fear. Rise above all negativity: neither fear nor threat. Just Light. And Light’s expression is both power and love, sympathy. It is best to relax, be as happy as possible, laugh, be protected by your joy, so nothing can affect you. Pigsy is relying on your weakness. But you are all the more powerful for not being intimidated by his physical presence. Maintain and increase your power. Then you have every reason to sympathise with all beings who are weaker.

“The best armour is to keep out of range.” - Italian proverb.

Caine (David Carradine): The cobra seeks to fix the eye of the bird before it strikes. In that moment of looking at each other, each accepts his role: predator and prey. Fear creates the victim. Yet, something in the bird makes it seek the eye of the cobra...a wish to die.
Bounty Hunter (John Saxon): Tell me how it feels.
Caine: You know how it feels. I will survive if I can, but you, it is you who feels the fear.
Bounty Hunter: I’m the one who’s got his finger on the trigger.
Caine: Facing death yet one more time. Yours, mine, it’s the death that fascinates you. Looking into its eyes - you are the bird; the cobra is death.

The bounty hunter finally falls to his death while running after his rifle which is perched on the edge of the mountain. (Kung Fu, Season 1, Episode 1, ‘King of the Mountain,’ 1972).

“There is nothing the Power of God cannot do. Your holiness, then, can remove all pain, end all sorrow, and can solve all problems.” (Stuart Wilde, A Course in Miracles card. From A Course in Miracles, Lesson 38: “Through your holiness the power of God is made manifest. Through your holiness the power of God is made available. And there is nothing the power of God cannot do. Your holiness, then, can remove all pain, can end all sorrow, and can solve all problems…The purpose of today’s exercises is to begin to instil in you a sense that you have dominion over all things because of what you are.” (The Foundation for Inner Peace, CA., U.S., 1976).

Marcus Aurelius ‘On envy.’

“‘He has a stronger body and is a better wrestler than I.’ What then? ‘Is she more beautiful, more successful than myself?’ So? Ask yourself: ‘Do they bear life’s setbacks with greater composure? Or put up with other’s offences with more patience, understanding and good humour than I do?’ So in the things that truly matter, where are they superior to myself?” (Meditations, Jeremy Scott translation, Profile Books, London, U.K., 2001).

Bear all and do nothing;
Hear all and say nothing;
Give all and take nothing;
Serve all and be nothing.
- Sathya Sai Baba.

"In Comparing, We Divide. In Acknowledgment, We Unite." - Nathan Kass.

“What is important is - if you hate, hate with awareness. If you love, love with awareness...Let everything rise out of your awareness...The miracle of awareness is that, without saying anything, without doing anything, it simply dissolves all that is ugly in you into all that is beautiful. It is a transforming force. For example, if you are aware of anger, it will disappear. If you are aware of love, it will become stronger. If there is hate and you become aware of it, it will disappear...Whatsoever deepens with your awareness is virtue. Whatsoever disappears with your awareness is sin. To me, this is the definition...You just try it and you will be simply amazed that there are things in you which cannot stand in front of awareness. They simply disappear. Awareness functions almost like magic. And what I am saying - you can experiment - I’m not telling you to believe in it because belief will not help. You will have to experiment with it...You will have to see - with the different things in you - what remains and what disappears. And it is only you who can find what is right for you and what is wrong for you. Then, keep the thread of awareness running through all your actions. And, in your life, any hate, any anger, any jealousy - not that you have dropped them; not that you have repressed them; not that you have somehow got rid of them; not that you have practised against them - no, you have not done anything. You have not even touched them. This is the beauty of awareness. It never depresses anything. But there are things which simply melt in the light of awareness.” - Osho (extracts from the DVD with Compassion: The Ultimate Flowering of Love, St. Martin's Griffin, 2007).

“Some cause happiness wherever they go; others whenever they go.” - Oscar Wilde.

“It takes no patience when you’re only focussing on things that feel good. Patience is something that humans attempt that is impossible. You know what people mean by patient? They mean look right at something you don’t want and feel good anyway. That’s what people think patience is. We’re not patient at all. We are focused on things that feel good. It might appear to be patient but it isn’t…It’s really the benefit that we offer you. We ride your rocket. We see you where you want to be and we never look where you are. But when you look where you are you cause vibrational separation between your view of you and our view of you. That’s why your guidance system works. If we looked where you look you wouldn’t feel the separation [That is, we would accept it as normal, or reality, which Abraham’s higher perspective challenges].” – Abraham (channelled through Esther Hicks, www.abraham-hicks.com).

“The situation is critical, but never serious...So it’s best to be proactive when it comes to having as strong a sense of humour as possible...Have a good laugh - it clears the vibration and lighten the mood with love. If you can’t laugh at yourself, you don’t stand a chance of being in divine Mind. Rather, you’re a complete hostage to your ego and you can only expect misery because that’s all it’s capable of creating. And although everything may feel serious to you, you can be assured that those not absorbed in the drama will see you as ridiculous. So it’s best to start seeing your ego as ridiculous first...’ Laughter sends the devil running,’ meaning the world of false appearances and ego-mind illusions. Laughter instantly frees you from the grip of fear, among other things, and that alone is Heaven on Earth.” - Sonia Choquette (The Answer Is Simple…love yourself, live your spirit, Hay House, Inc., Carlsbad, CA., U.S., 2008, p.130-131).
