Monstaville Book II. Chapter 34

34

La vengeance est un plat qui se mange froid” (‘Revenge is a dish best served cold’).
- Pierre Ambroise Francois Choderlos de La Clos in the novel Les Liaisons Dangereuse, 1782 (also cited in 2003 Quentin Tarantino’s 2003 film Kill Bill: volume 1 as a Klingon saying: “This reference comes from a scene in the 1982 Star Trek film The Wrath of Khan: it wasn't actually said by a Klingon, but rather the wrathful character Khan Noonian Singh tells Kirk that it is a Klingon proverb while the spaceships Reliant and Enterprise play chicken.” www.everything2.com).

Lila. An Enquiry Into Morals by Robert M. Pirsig (Black Swan, London, U.K., 1991).

The Captain handed her drink to her and then sat down beside her.
‘All right, what are the things you like best?’
‘Food.’
‘What else?’
‘More food.’
‘And after that?’
She thought for a while. ‘Just what we’re doing now. Did you see that light from the city across the bridge? All of a sudden it was so beautiful.’
‘What else?’
‘Men,’ she laughed.
‘What kind?’
‘Any kind. The kind that likes me.’
‘What do you dislike most?’
‘Mean people...Like that lady in the store back in town. There’s a million people like her and I hate every one of them. Always trying to make themselves big by tearing somebody else down...You do it too, you know.’
‘Me?’
‘Yes, you.’
‘When?’
‘This afternoon. Talking big about a boat you never saw.’
‘Oh, that.’
‘Just don’t be mean like that and we’ll get along fine. Only get mad at mean people.’
‘What after mean people?’ the Captain asked.
‘People who think they’re better than you are.’
‘What next?’
‘Lots of things.’
‘What?’
‘Well, there’s lots of things I don’t want. I don’t want to get old. I don’t want people to be mean. Oh, I said that.’
She thought for a while.
‘Sometimes I don’t want to be so lonely. You know, I thought George and me were really going to make it. And then this Debbie comes along and it’s like he doesn’t even know me. I didn’t do anything to him. That’s just mean.’
‘Anything else?’
‘Isn’t that enough? It isn’t any special thing that makes me feel bad. I don’t know what it’s going to be until it happens.’
She looked at him.
‘Sometimes there’s something that just comes over me, and I get scared...That happened this afternoon.’

“Chris Evans...speaks light-heartedly of the terrific laughs engendered by ‘waving your willy about in the workplace. I put it to him that, if you’re the boss, the star or the bloke who pays the wages, then people will laugh through fear, intimidation, embarrassment or self-preservation. They’re too scared of the consequences not to pretend to go along with the so-called joke. Exhibitionism is a nasty and threatening form of bullying. When I worked on the Big Breakfast I inherited make-up artists who’d had to put up with daily sightings of Evans’ organ and it wasn’t any sort of giggle whatsoever.” - Venessa Feltz (‘Exposing yourself at work is for plonkers, Chris,’ Venessa Feltz column, ‘From the Heart,’ Daily Express, 8 March 2005).

“Where the fear is, happiness is not.” – Seneca.

“The meek shall inherit the earth,” said the Nazarene. Be gentle, sensitive, feminine, loving. Accept others as they are because if you resist them, you project separateness onto them and create karma. To be whole in yourself as an individual, one needs to be open to the whole of consciousness and surrender to oneness because this is an inner level of oneself also. Be like water, as Laozi counsels.

Master Kan (Philip Ahn): “Weakness prevails over strength. Gentleness conquers. Become the calm and restful breeze that tames the violent sea.”
                - Kung Fu (Season 1, Episode 1, ‘King of the Mountain,’ 1972).

“The hero is the one who kindles a great light in the world, who sets up blazing torches in the dark streets of life for men to see by. The saint is the man who walks through the dark paths of the world, himself a light.” - Felix Adler.

Kindness

“Kindness can become its own motive. We are made kind by being kind.” - Eric Hoffer.

“My feeling is that there is nothing in life but refraining from hurting others, and comforting those who are sad.” - Olive Schreiner.

“Wherever there is a human being there is an opportunity for a kindness.” - Seneca.

“Just because an animal is large, it doesn't mean he doesn't want kindness; however big Tigger seems to be, remember that he wants as much kindness as Roo.” - A. A. Milne.

“Choose being kind over being right, and you'll be right every time.” - Richard Carlson.

“Treat every person with kindness and respect, even those who are rude to you. Remember that you show compassion to others not because of who they are but because of who you are.” - Andrew T. Somers.

“Today we are afraid of simple words like goodness and mercy and kindness. We don't believe in the good old words because we don't believe in good old values anymore. And that's why the world is sick.” - Lin Yutang.

“Kindness in words creates confidence. Kindness in thinking creates profoundness. Kindness in giving creates love.” - Lao-Tzu.

“Beginning today, treat everyone you meet as if he or she were going to be dead by midnight. Extend to them all the care, kindness, and understanding you can muster, and do so with no thought of any reward. Your life will never be the same again.” - Og Mandino.

“Forget injuries, never forget kindnesses.” - Confucius.

“There is no greater weapon than kindness.” - Anon.

“Kindness is the noblest weapon to conquer with.” - American Proverb.

“For as Maitreya said in one of the teachings he gave Asanga: ‘The water of compassion courses through the canal of loving kindness.’" - Sogyal Rinpoche (The Tibetan Book of Living and Dying, Rider & Co, London, U.K., 1992, p.196).

"As the rain falls on the just and unjust alike, let your heart be untroubled by judgements and let your kindness rain down on all." - Buddha.

Ask yourself, in each moment, ‘What would love do now?’ - Brother Timothy (my father’s spirit guide).

“Your own soul is nourished when you are kind. It is destroyed when you are cruel.” - King Solomon.

‘The True Passage Home.’ A Message from The Council of Light (channelled through Rebecca Couch on the New Moon of 24 May 2009, www.heartlight.ca/council/latest).

Beloved ones, there is so much to do and yet there is only one thing that is important in it: that you remain in your sacred heart centred on love. It sounds easy, and it doesn't have to become your life’s great effort, when it is just your choice in every moment that creates the unified outcome. And so it is - especially when you least expect it - the answer. There is a great quote ‘Love is the answer. What was the question?’
This is the key when you have forgotten your True Self and are in frustration or anger or judgment or impatience or fear or pain: connecting with your heart centre that is the passageway to your Higher Self, your I Am Presence, your greater divinity and to the higher realms of the divine that you are. Anything outside of this is illusion created in order to return you in that direction. That’s all. You need only focus on this one intention to clear the path of life’s obstructions...weeds, branches, stones, debris…that have cluttered the path. Clear it and keep it well trodden, for this is the end of the maze!
Beware of anything that pops up to spook you along the path. Be aware of your own ego’s folly. Beware of those little entanglements that preoccupy you in minutia. Be aware of your physical body’s transmutations that can dispel, distract or dramatise you. Their best purpose is to guide you back home; a homing beacon to remind you to come back here not stray out there. The pain will cease when the beacon doesn’t have to sound so loudly to get your attention. When you can only look back from the other side, the body’s pain callings will dissolve along with the need for any other external dependency, distraction or disillusion. While there are many paths, there is only one opening to your truth and you will have found it!
And what miraculous expansion awaits you on the other side of the doorway? You will just have to go there to find out, but it is promised to be unimaginable on this side and unnecessarily describable on the other. It just is the best isness there is.
So what are you waiting for? More sticks and stones and thorny vines to keep you from that beautiful garden? It is time to remove them once and for all and to make the true passage home.
                In this love, we are,

‘Let That Cake Rise’ by Teacher Samuel of Panoptia (channelled through George Barnard, Illawarra District, Australia, 20 October 2009, www.1111progressgroup.com).

Much, very much is asked of you all during your lifetime on this earth, and in fact of all citizens on disordered worlds like this one, yes, the near-impossible is sometimes demanded, and frequently for extended periods.  In such circumstances trust and faith can be wonderful character traits to sustain you, to lead you through difficult times, to guide you out of a mire of concerns - that swamp of worries, so to speak. It is also not unusual to, at times, feel you have been forsaken, rendered bereft of celestial overcare.
During the most difficult times there is an opportunity to grow in spirit, although often it is not in the first place, but in the very last instance that an individual turns to his or her Creator. That moment in time can become ‘the proverbial fork in the road’ for that person’s life, and from that very event onwards, great strides can be made.  Again, indeed, ultimate trust in the Creator and his myriad Helpers may well be forced onto this individual for a satisfactory conclusion to problems to be overcome, or such difficulties to be more patiently endured.
At the soul level more progress is then made, often noticed by others, rarely glimpsed by the individual. And yet there is the tendency by many to try to discern their spiritual progress, which can really only be viewed by them in retrospect, and generally only over prolonged periods of time. A kind of parallel can be observed with a behaviour of a youngster who is baking her or his first cake. If the recipe says the cake dough needs to rise for half of one hour, it is important to follow the recipe. It is equally important to not constantly ‘open the oven door’ on your spiritual progress.
Have trust in all being well with your progress if you are doing your best. Have faith in your being guided by your good senses, and know that your earthly days are only the beginning of an eternal career. To attempt to class yourself as either advanced or ‘treading spiritual water,’ might well be either conceited or seriously self-effacing.  Those in the know of your true spiritual status are your Guardian Angels, and above all, the Spark of God within you, your true Saviour.
Should you still feel uncertain, remember that this universe is both friendly and efficient in guiding its youngest (human) children, and that there remain ages upon ages in which you may correct any faults. Your ability to astral travel is not an acknowledgement of your spiritual ‘prowess,’ nor is any report by friends that you perhaps ‘bi-located’ in their home or place of work. Without grandstanding, and likewise without you deriding yourself or others, it remains your task in life to progress in faith and trust by letting that ‘spiritual cake’ rise uninterruptedly.
This is your group teacher Samuel of Panoptia. Enjoy your evening as you contemplate my recipe for terrestrial life and beyond. I send you all my love.

Don’t be ashamed of your tears, they can wash the pain off your soul

Do you see how your aura expands far above, below and around you? Do you see how each kind thought and action expands your aura and makes your heart glow? Observe how this glow of your heart precedes you in your earthly endeavours and protects you at night when you sleep. Observe how you influence all the people in your everyday life…See how your aura interacts with your environment, your yard, the freeway, your pets, animals, birds, insects…Watch how Gaia responds to the colour of your aura…Note how Her plants and animals respond to your admiration…Pay attention to how the atmosphere wavers as you walk through it…YOU are a powerful Multidimensional Being, just now emerging from your cocoon of doubt and fear.” – The Arcturians (channelled through Dr. Suzanne Caroll, ‘Arcturian Corridor Part III,’ August 2010, www.multidimensions.com).

“Life only demands from you the strength you possess. Only one feat is possible - not to have run away.” - Dag Hammarskjold (www.quotelady.com/subjects/strength.html).

As we resist experiences we tangle ourselves up in knots. Or, rather, our minds become unsettled, cloudy and confused, blocking out the Light that shines in the heart. We have been stuck in this condition which separates us from the Oneness of the Love and Light that we Are for many lifetimes now. We all know deep down that this is the time of planetary Ascension, of mass liberation from the prison of low-density thought which blocks our flow of feeling and causes us to stagnate emotionally and therefore spiritually as well. The return of feminine energies, of the Goddess, is a wonderful opportunity for each soul that has incarnated on the Earth (hence, we have a population above six billion!). That is why we are here at this time, to receive the Light and nourishment (divine love) that is returning to our beloved planet and accelerate our growth. We have all said, ‘Enough is enough.’ We have agreed collectively to graduate from this school of hard knocks and to stop tying ourselves up in knots. It is time to release these patterns of thought and the repressed emotions trapped within them one at a time if necessary. [This is a little note from a more heart-centred me at the end of Book 3!].

"If you are inwardly free from fighting, no one will be able to fight with you." -  Taoism.

“I’m not a fighter, I have bad reflexes. I was once run over by a car being pushed by two guys.” - Woody Allen.
