The Veil of Forgetfulness

Why can't we remember our previous lives?

It is only within the Third Density evolutionary process that the Veil of Forgetfulness exists.

If there were no potential for misunderstanding, there would be no experience. It is necessary for the Third Density entity to forget where it comes from so that the mechanism of confusion or free will may operate upon the newly individuated consciousness complex.

So, apparently, the need to make choices without conscious understanding of all the ramifications is a necessary evolutionary step in the growth of an entity. In other words, we need to learn ''faith.'' If there were no Veil of Forgetfulness, then one would always understand the ramifications of one's choices, and Life would be entirely predictable. In a predictable system, free will cannot exist.

The Veil of Forgetfulness is a semi‑permeable, etheric membrane, which surrounds the consciousness of a person in physical form. Its purpose is the same as the blinders that are put around the eyes of a horse pulling a cart through a busy city. The Veil keeps humans from noticing the many alternative realities and possibilities that exist around us every moment that we are alive. For some, the Veil is subtle enough to keep them from being distracted by "the other side." For others, its density and all‑pervasiveness results in spiritual blindness.

To penetrate a person's Veil of Forgetfulness means to create a psychic "leak" in the reality bubble for that individual. The hole may be small, like a needle applying an infusion of necessary medicine. Or, it may be large enough to cause a hemorrhage of knowledge and awareness that results in a classic case of schizophrenia.

Any physical or emotional trauma can produce a break in the Veil. Through that wound there can flow a kind of "fluid" which acts as a conductor and produces a link to an alternative self, which that individual is operating at other levels of the Multiverse. In a sense, it's like having the tuner on a radio dial positioned so that, through considerable static, you can hear two stations at once.

Penetration of the Veil does not have to be an accident. Some people purposely try to make contact with "the other side." They can do this through focused meditation, drug usage, breath work, visualization, hypnosis, automatic writing, or any one of several other means.

The key factor we must deal with here is the idea that what is found on the "other side" is just as real as what is found here in physical form. The basic difference in the two is the density (frequency of vibration) of the people and objects contacted. Trying to discredit the real‑life experiences of someone who has truly traversed the Veil is a near‑impossible task. Those who interrogated Joan of Arc would heartily agree. Once a person has been there, really been there, there can be no denying what he or she knows to be real.

The Veil of Forgetfulness literally shields the new entity from conscious interaction with memories from pervious incarnations. This function is chosen and is important to preserve the individualization of the new entity and to preserve the free will of the new entity. But; that does not mean the Veil cannot be penetrated if that is in line with the will of the entity considering such an action. but it must be chosen and then achieved.

You won't know you are on the path of being an Ascended master yet though as it=s another test of your soul advancement; eventually you will just know your ideas will someday be highly regarded. Spiritual law defines The Law of Time, which puts everyone under a veil of forgetfulness. This law was designed for a sense of order without the remembrance of burdens in past lives.

From the Law of One:

THE VEIL IS PRESENT ONLY IN THE 3RD DENSITY

RA: This is the only plane of forgetting. It is necessary for the 3rd density entity to forget so that the mechanisms of confusion or free will may operate upon the newly individuated consciousness complex.

(B1,193)

RA: The same conditions existed in time/space (the metaphysical realms) both before and after the veiling (or veil of forgetfulness); that is, the veiling process is a space/time phenomenon.

(B4,73)

RA: Without the veil the mind was not caught in your illusory time.

(B4,94)

THE VEIL IS NEEDED IN ORDER TO HAVE 'EXPERIENCE'

DON: Why must an entity come into an incarnation and lose conscious memory of what he wants to do? Why can't he accomplish the same thing in between incarnations when the entity is aware of what he wants to do? (B2,132)

RA: WERE THERE NO POTENTIALS FOR MISUNDERSTANDING, THERE WOULD BE NO EXPERIENCE.

(B3,24)

DON: The first change made for the extension of free will was to make the communication between the conscious mind (Ra calls it the Matrix) and unconscious mind (Ra calls it the Potentiator) relatively unavailable one to the other during the incarnation.

Is this correct? (B4,40)

RA: We would perhaps rather term the condition as relatively more mystery‑filled than relatively unavailable.

(B4,41)

DON: The idea was then to create some type of veil between the conscious mind and the unconscious mind.

Is this correct? (B4,41)

RA: This is correct.

DON: It was probably the design of the Logos to allow the conscious mind greater freedom under the first distortion by partitioning it from the unconscious mind which had a greater communication with the total mind, therefore allowing for the birth of "uneducated" portions of consciousness.

Is this correct? (B4,41)

RA: This is roughly correct.
