Monstaville Book III. Appendix XIV

Appendix XIV

“When I was young, I used to admire intelligent people; as I grow older, I admire kind people.” - Abraham Joshua Heschel.

White Eagle on ‘The Power of Thought’ (channelled through Grace Cooke, The Light Bringer. The Ray of John and the Age of Intuition, The White Eagle Publishing Trust, Hants., U.K., 2001, p.141-143).

What we have to give you is a message about your opportunity to use your own thought-power to help humanity instead of to hurt it: in order to help yourself instead of to hurt yourself. All people have the power to think constructive God-thought, not only at certain times, but as a natural habit. Instead of complaining, ‘Oh, what a beastly day!,’ try to think: ‘Oh, another God-given day. How good is the rain! Mother earth needs the rain. How good is the cold. Mother Earth needs the cold to cleanse herself in preparation for spring.’ Always see the best in everything and in everybody. Instead of thinking: ‘Oh, so and so means to hurt me; so and so is wrong; I am right,’ realise that whatever another soul is doing your attitude and your thought must be tolerant, kind and good.
We are preaching a gospel of perfection; we know this very well, but then you have the seeds of perfection already within you. You do not need to think of yourself. All you have to do is live your days, love everything and everybody; just breathe love, live love, think love – and then attacks cannot penetrate your armour. Remember your thoughts; keep a check on them. You will gradually re-create your conditions, re-create your life…
There are many who will say, ‘But how is this possible when there are disagreeable conditions to contend with on the physical plane?’ It is possible, but it does need self-control, and control of all kinds of thoughts, disturbing, distracting and diseased thoughts. You say you cannot help your thoughts rushing in - they come before you realise it. Well, that is true. But you can, in time, control the uprush. It cannot be done instantly. You cannot sit down one morning and say, ‘I will not have any unwanted thoughts today.’ It is not quite as easy as that! It may take a long time, and even several lives, to gain this poise of spirit – to achieve this domination of the earthly mind by the pure spirit, the divine in you.
Do not be discourages, but start right away to follow the plan we have outlined for you. Make it habitual to welcome and respond to thoughts of purity, gentleness, kindliness and goodwill. Make no mistake, this does not mean that you must go about your daily lives in a pious and sanctimonious attitude. This is the last thing we would advocate. Be natural; be generous in thought; keep constantly the reminder in the heart of the presence of the Christ – the noble and perfect child of God – the Cosmic Christ, who manifested so beautifully though the master Jesus.
Lastly, we would add: it is not only a matter of thinking what you want – that is only a small part of the picture. The real truth is that you wish to work with God to create harmony, beauty and healthfulness, holiness and happiness, not only for yourself but for all human kind. It is this motive of creative love which gives power and life to your thoughts and prayers. This is the work of brotherhood.

"Those who escape hell however never talk about it and nothing much bothers them
after that." - Charles Bukowski.

“And once the storm is over, you won’t remember how you made it through, how you managed to survive. You won’t even be sure, whether the storm is really over. But one thing is certain. When you come out of the storm, you won’t be the same person who walked in. That’s what this storm’s all about.” - Haruki Murakami.
